Thank you Samuel, I posted that meme you mentioned on my facebook. My brother commented "God struck His Son in our place". I removed the comment as even though I only made it visible to the Christians on my list, an argument would look bad. I'm wondering regarding the rest of your blog post, if it's important to attend a church where the pastor is a gentle parenting proponent?
As for me, I would not be able to attend any church where the pastor did not share my beliefs, including those of non-violent parenting.
A community of Christians I think needs to focus on peace, charity, reconciliation and redemption. I don't see how telling parents to administer corporal punishment on children fits into that focus.
